So I thought I would check in with my Dr before my insurance was cancelled, and I made an appointment to see her
yesterday morning. I needed to get more migraine medicine, and Lexapro, in case I decide I need it again sometime.
So Jackie can't find my blood pressure, which never used to happen but now has happened the last few times I've had
it checked. She got the machine and my blood pressure was sort of high, 140/102 and my pulse was real high, 153 bpm.
Then the doctor came in and listened to it and ordered an EKG. She didn't want me walking around I guess because she
had them bring the cart downstairs. She gave me a beta blocker and referred me to cardiology. I am sort of nervous,
especially about this pill. I've heard that once you start it can be hard to go off it because then bp and pulse go way up.
I also think 25 is a pretty young age to take this type of medication. I don't understand, a few years ago I had real low
vitals, and as a teenager I used to actually faint from what I was told was low blood pressure. I don't understand how things
have changed so drastically and rapidly.

Have they tested your Thyroid also?  I used to have high blood pressure and a high heart rate (resting was over 120) and it was due to an incorrect thyroid regulation.

You are never too "young" to have health problems.  Just make sure you stay on top of it and get information that you feel is correct.  If you don't like the idea of something, get a second opinion.

I had my thyroid checked about a year ago and it was normal, but then again my heart and bp was also normal at that time. So I should probably have it checked again.
I hadn't thought of that and will ask the cardiologist when I see her thursday. Thanks for the input!
